We provide thorough training programs for customers who purchase SIFCO chemicals and equipment. Our expert team, with years of experience, will guide you through the Brush Plating process, giving you the skills and knowledge to optimize performance and achieve efficient, high-quality plating results.

BASIC TRAINING COURSE

A two to four-day course providing comprehensive instruction in the use of your selective brush plating equipment. The course provides approximately 12 hours of classroom work introducing basic plating theory and practice. Consisting of:
– Safety considerations
– Electrochemical aspects of both bath and selective brush electroplating
– Plating anode design
– Plating calculations
– Surface preparation of base materials
– Operation of power pack
– Use of solutions including selection, application and post-usage care
– Job set-up and cost estimation

The remainder of the course is devoted to actual “Hands-on” plating experience focusing on plating technique and your application(s). The satisfactory completion of this course meets the vendor training requirements of AMS 2451 and MIL-STD 865.

 

CADMIUM / ZINC-NICKEL CERTIFICATION COURSE

A two-day session that is targeted towards specifically plating cadmium and/or zinc-nickel for O&R and OEM applications in the Aerospace Market. It is designed to evaluate, through written, oral, and practical examinations, the operator’s ability to produce satisfactory plating using the selective brush plating processes for cadmium and/or zinc-nickel plating onto steel, stainless steel, and Ni-Al-Bronze base metals. This training will meet the annual operator requirements of AMS 2451, Mil-Std-865 and many of the primary commercial plating specifications in the Aerospace Market, such as Boeing, Sikorsky, Safran/Messier-Dowty and Bell Helicopter.

RECERTIFICATION COURSE

An application-specific one-to-two-day program designed to re-evaluate, through written, oral, and practical examinations, the operator’s ability to produce satisfactory plating using the selective brush plating process. Operators will be recertified to the requirements of AMS 2451 and MIL STD 865.
